What

We have been funded by the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) and have a programme of free training available. The programme aims to support teachers, school staff, and youth practitioners to better identify and address the vulnerabilities and needs of girls and young women at risk of abuse.

The programme explores a range of topics relating to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) including: Domestic Abuse Awareness, Raising Awareness of Peer-on-Peer Abuse, Harmful Practices, Intersectional & Trauma-Informed Approaches, and Online Harms. Throughout, we take a gender-informed and intersectional approach to these issues. These topics are of high priority for Ofsted as well as within KCSiE in 2022.

The training ultimately aims to create safer environments for young women and girls in schools and youth settings and will support your staff with the delivery of the new compulsory Relationships and Sex Education Curriculum.

The project is co-delivered by the Ashiana Network and Tender Education and Arts, who have a combined 50+ years of experience working within the sector.

The training spans 6 modules between 2 -3 hours long. We are aware of the time pressures and workload your staff are under, so we're ken to make the programme as accessible as possible for your team. Our experienced Project Coordinators will hold all administration, and we can explore options to deliver modules either in-person or online via Zoom dependent on your school's needs.
