What

Understanding ADHD & Autism to better support the young people you work with

HeadsUp are hosting a free training session for Harrow’s professionals to build knowledge and confidence to support ADHD & Autistic young people with their mental health needs.

Date: Thursday 13th June 2024

Time: 10:30 am to 2:00 pm

Where: Greenhill Library, Perceval Square, College Rd, Harrow HA1 1GX

Cost: Free

Content: This half day session will explore both ADHD and Autism conditions individually, along with challenges faced with having both conditions presenting together in a young person/adult.

A deeper look at sensory issues in both conditions and impact how executive functioning affects daily life.
You will also have a chance to hear from a few of our Autistic and ADHD adults who will share their experiences and provide a space for you to ask questions about how you can support neurodiversity in your education and work setting.

Who is this training for? Professionals and Volunteers in Harrow who works with young people (up to age 25) can benefit from this training. That includes school staff, charities and social enterprises, youth group leaders and volunteers as well as many more!

Who runs it? This training will be delivered by the Centre for ADHD & Autism Support (CAAS), part of the HeadsUp partnership.
HeadsUp is a consortium of 5 charities in North West London providing specialised mental health support to young people who face additional barriers to accessing support. CAAS are a North-West London charity that work with young people who are diagnosed with either ADHD or autism, or on the pathway to diagnosis by helping them navigate what that means to them and exploring any challenges they may have, whilst building on their strengths, their support extends to working alongside their families and professionals to ensure the well-being of the young person through 1-1 and group therapy, courses, social clubs and services for families.
