What
In-person TRAINING: understanding the key mental health and well-being issues for young refugees and people seeking asylum
HeadsUp is hosting a free training session for Harrow’s professionals to build your knowledge and confidence to support young people who are refugees or seeking asylum with their mental health needs.

This is one in a series of FREE training by HeadsUp Harrow for YP professionals.
Any professional in Harrow who works with young people (up to age 25) can benefit from this training. That includes school staff, charities and social enterprises, youth group leaders and volunteers as well as many more!
Who runs it?
This training will be delivered by the Paiwand Afghan Association, part of HeadsUp Harrow. HeadsUp is a consortium of 5 charities in north and west London providing specialised mental health support to young people who face additional barriers to accessing support. Paiwand are a North-West London charity that helps refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants to build a happy life in the UK. They have a wide range of services including Mental Health; Housing and Benefits; Employment; Immigration; and Learning English.
This is one of a series of training that will be delivered by the HeadsUp consortium in 2023/2024.
