Nip in the Bud
About Organisation
Nip in the Bud was set up to raise awareness about mental health and neurodivergent experiences in children. Our mission is to support those caring for or working with children by helping them recognise and respond to potential mental health issues, ensuring timely and appropriate support. This awareness is equally important for children whose neurodiversity may be unrecognised or misunderstood, leaving them unsupported.
We collaborate with professionals to produce evidence-based short films, factsheets, podcasts, and blogs to identify symptoms, understand why a child may be experiencing these symptoms and provide guidance on offering and seeking support.
Additionally, we work with children, parents, carers, and adults whose personal experiences inform our resources, aiming to help others facing similar challenges. Our goal is to promote early intervention and prevent symptoms from becoming more serious over time.
Our resources are designed for educators and carers of children aged 3-16 and cover topics such as Anxiety, Autism, ADHD, Conduct Disorder, Depression, Dyslexia, OCD, PTSD, Self-Injury, and Eating Disorders. Our resources also highlight the impact of trauma on the mental health of young people, be they refugees, or survivors of conflict, or those who have been impacted by abuse or verbal abuse, by grief/loss or by stigma.
