12 Local Organisations Supported through the 2021 Small Grants Programme from John Lyon’s Charity
Harrow is home to a whole range of organisations, programmes and partnerships, each addressing different needs for different groups. Some of them are large and so require larger amounts of funding, but others are more specific, local and targeted. John Lyon’s Charity introduced the ‘Small Grants’ fund for this exact reason, to give local organisations the opportunity to run smaller, targeted projects.
In the shadow of COVID, this kind of funding has been more important than ever to help smaller groups keep their doors open.
Over the last year, this funding has been utilised for an excitingly diverse range of activities and programmes from shooting a short film, to arts workshops for vulnerable groups, to cookery clubs. Key needs like mental health, physical health, and inequalities were all especially important to those receiving funding.
The 12 successful organisations in Harrow were:
- London's Community Kitchen
- The Josh Hanson Trust
- Steps to Success Academy Pas Cu Pas
- Tamil Association of Brent
- OnePlace
- 2nd Rayners Lane Scout Group
- Every Person Is Capable (EPIC)
- Film Skool Deluxe
- Fulfil Your Potential
- Roxeth Community Church
- SweetScience
- Zawiyah
